Get Ready for the Apocalypse

When you hear the phrase, “Get Ready for the Apocalypse”, you may imagine any number of end of days scenarios and ways to prepare or protect yourself and loved ones. The truth is, the word apocalypse has taken on a different meaning than John the Revelator ever imagined.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: (Revelation 1:1 KJV)

Revelation: apokalupsis, pronounced – ap-ok-al’-oop-sis which according to Strong’s concordance means: disclosure: – appearing, coming, lighten, manifestation, be revealed, revelation. The two words that make up the Greek word are:

  1. apo – means to take away or break
  2. kalupsis – to cover, hide or veil

So, apokalupsis, apocalypse really means to uncover, unveil or to bring to light, revelation.

So what do I mean by get ready for the Apocalypse?

Get ready for revelation, get ready to know something that you did not know and would have no way of knowing unless it had been revealed. Revelations are meant to bring you to a higher level of insight or knowledge.
